For law firms
Finding an expert and receiving a report.
- What is Expert Evidentia?
- A platform where law firms find vetted expert witnesses, and where those experts draft, verify and sign their reports. Our first focus is country-conditions experts for immigration matters.
- Are you a law firm?
- No. We do not give legal advice and we take no part in your case strategy. Experts are independent professionals engaged for your matter.
- How do I get started?
- Send a short, non-confidential request. During early access our team sets up firm accounts. In the app you open a case, search experts and send offers.
- How are experts vetted?
- A person on our team reads each application: the CV, a public page that confirms identity, the basis of expertise, track record and disclosures. Approval is at our discretion, and only approved experts appear in search. Vetting is not a guarantee of admissibility or of any outcome.
- What do I see before an expert accepts?
- Search results are anonymous: a headline, countries, fields and a summary. The expert's name, employer and CV are shared once they accept your offer.
- Can I approach more than one expert?
- Yes. You can send offers to several experts. When you engage, you choose one who has accepted, and the report is created for that expert.
- Does AI write the report?
- AI helps the expert outline, draft, find sources and check facts. The expert edits, rejects or replaces anything it suggests, reviews every source and signs the final text.
- What do I receive?
- A filing package: the signed declaration as a PDF and a Word document, with its sources and a manifest. The app also keeps an audit trail of edits and approvals.
- Can I upload case documents?
- Do not send confidential material through the website forms. In the app, documents are uploaded to a case you have opened. Each file is checked for unsafe content, and only its text is kept.
- Do you guarantee an outcome?
- No. We do not guarantee expert availability, admissibility or any case outcome.
- Which kinds of experts are available?
- Country-conditions experts for immigration matters, such as asylum, withholding and Convention Against Torture claims. Other disciplines are planned and are not available yet.
- What does it cost?
- Firms pay a monthly or annual subscription. Plans start at $99 a month, or $82 a month billed annually, and are sized by seats, active cases and reports a month. Expert fees are separate and agreed with the expert. Nonprofits receive a discount. See the pricing page.
For experts
Applying, working with firms and signing your report.
- Who can apply?
- Country-conditions researchers and academics; human-rights, NGO and UN professionals; journalists; former officials and diplomats; and lawyers who practiced in the country. More specialities open later.
- What do you need from me to start?
- An email, a password, your country and agreement to the terms. The rest of the profile is built inside the app and saves as you go, so you can finish in one sitting or several.
- What do you never ask for?
- A social security number or tax ID, date of birth, home address, passport or license scans, bank details, or citizenship status. We also never ask for names of past applicants or a win rate. See the privacy notice for what we do collect.
- How long does review take?
- A person reads every application. Our target is a reply within 3 working days, with an approval, a question or a no. If we ask for more, you can edit and resubmit, and keep working on your profile meanwhile.
- Will every application be approved?
- No. A person on our team reviews each one, and approval is at our discretion. A disclosed issue is reviewed on its merits.
- Will I get cases?
- We cannot promise offers. Firms search by country, topic, case type, fee, turnaround and services, so a complete, specific profile is what gets found.
- How will I know about an offer?
- The app shows a notification when an offer arrives. Email notifications are coming.
- Can firms see who I am before I agree?
- No. Search is anonymous: headline, countries, fields and a summary. Your name, employer and CV are shared once you accept an offer.
- Can I decline an offer or work with several firms?
- Yes to both. You decide which offers to accept, and you can hold several cases for the same firm or for different firms.
- Do I have to testify?
- Only if you offer it. Services are your choice: written declaration only, testimony by phone or video, in person, or case review.
- Who writes the report?
- You do. The tools assist, and you review every source and sign the final text.
- Does AI write the report?
- No. It drafts, finds sources and flags claims the sources do not support. You edit, reject or replace anything, review every source and sign the final text.
- Who sets my fee?
- You do, flat or hourly, in your currency, and firms see it before they send an offer. Engagement terms are agreed between you and the firm.
